'Take care of our heritage'
This photograph was taken in Costa Coffee which i thought was very interesting with the quote it came with. This shows that a line of business has been passed down to generations. which you can see in the photograph parents with their child. I also think that the image being in black and white gives that effect of the past and that they are heading into the future. It also relates to the public as many items are passed through the family. Its also asking the public to respect their business, in Costa Coffee there are many quotes made by the public that are inspirational.
This is a Print advertisement, a poster in a frame. This is advertising a brand called Cluite. Visually you can see who the target market is. I would suggest it was for teenagers to give them energy like it says 'Reload'. It is very effective as it says' Don't loose your cool' as she squirts him with the drink, this could also signify that it is refreshing to the user. The setting is also relevant as it looks like they are in a restaurant where most people have drinks. They have used many colours and typography to make it stand out. Its probably a new product made by students which helps the products promotion.
This is a very interesting print outside Staffordshire University. This is aimed at new students i think as they are advertising the uni saying that the students have loads of new options to choose from, and 'Curiosity' means that you can change your mind and try new things. This stands out as it uses typography but certain words stand out as they are in bold. This is so its directed at you personally, meaning its your choice where you go in life. The best thing about this image is that behind the words there's a red door. Now doors can symbolize many things, such as freedom, or new world. A door can be opened or closed. Which could signify freedom of expressions for example some people choose to hide away or explore.
A good start Amy. Use the headings we discussed on Monday such as; Politics, Society, Visual Arts, Culture, Advertising, Design etc at the start of every post to help you contextualise your discussion. Lets see some diverse posts from a range of disciplines and sources, newspapers, other design blogs and online publications. Well done!
